So I have no experience with blueprints and plans at all. Transfering them over to the wood is a lot harder than it seems.
I tried a few methods that didnt work out too well but finally managed to get frame 1 outlined on one of the boards.
The method that seems to work best for me (had to try it a few times before I got it) is to copy the pattern directly onto the wood by placing two sheets of carbon paper under it, One set facing down to copy the pattern to the wood, the other set facing up so it traces the pattern on to the back of the plans. (The plans only include half of the shape so doing it this way you get the mirror image of it outlined on the back, just flip the plans over and then use that one for the other side.
Now for the other side just use one set of carbon paper facing the wood, flip the plans over and then trace the pattern on to the other half.
Now I finally have both sides outlined on the board and as far as I can tell they are both even and line up correctly. (The pencil lines are pretty hard to see in the pictures)
Now I am starting to cut out the pieces for Frame 1 very roughly, I want to leave a decent amount of wood outside of the outline just in case I messed up when I copied it. Once the rough outline is cut out for all of the pieces I plan on just using a belt sanding to work it down and keep comparing it to the original plans outline to make sure it matches.
